The Moneythink Curricular Philosophy
We believe that students learn best when they’re interested in what they’re learning. Through peer mentorship and pop-culture curricula, we focus on connecting financial and business concepts to our students’ worlds. We do this by teaching concepts through interactive presentations and workshops; driving engagement through case-study examples of relevant Hollywood celebrities, professional athletes, musical artists, and fashion moguls; and facilitating behavioral change through venture-building exercise and financial goal setting.
Our curricula have been designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors (11th graders and 12th graders) over the course of three years. Both curricula are still under intensive development, but below can be found the most recent iteration of each curriculum.
The Entrepreneurship Curriculum
Our entrepreneurship curriculum emphasizes customer and product development, marketing, presentation skills, teamwork, management, and leadership. Moneythink mentors work with students in teams to develop brainstorm business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, construct pitch-decks, and pitch their ventures in an end-of-the-course presentation.
